Travelling a long way for a vasectomy

A large proportion of patients travel a long way for a vasectomy, sometimes from very distant towns such as Legnica, Szczecin, Rzeszów, Suwałki, or from abroad. Here are a few practical tips for vasectomy candidates coming from far away.

IF YOU INTEND TO COME FOR YOUR VASECTOMY BY YOUR OWN CAR:

  1. If you have travelled a long way by car for your vasectomy, you can drive yourself after the procedure even for a very long time, and you do not need another person to help. The driver’s seat provides a comfortable body position. To drive yourself after a vasectomy, however, you should wait around 15-30 minutes and drink a strong sweet coffee in the meantime (we offer one to our drivers).
  2. If, while looking at the route map, you switched to satellite view, you will have seen that the building housing the practice is very large and stretches between two streets – Floriańska and Jagiellońska. The entrance to the practice is from Jagiellońska Street. There are parking spaces on both sides and you can usually find one close to the practice without any trouble.
  3. You may eat a light meal no later than 3 hours before the vasectomy. You must remember, however, not to eat foods that are hard to digest (that stay in the stomach for a long time), i.e. vegetables, fruit, fish and meat. An example of a light meal is scrambled eggs with butter, cottage cheese, a white roll and tea. After the procedure you may eat as much as you like.

IF YOU INTEND TO COME FOR YOUR VASECTOMY BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

  1. If you plan to come to us by public transport, first check the return times and schedule the vasectomy so that you do not have to wait too long for your journey home. For example, if your train arrives in Warsaw at 9:00 and the return train leaves at 15:00, it is better to have the vasectomy at around 13:00. Remember to secure a seat on the train.
  2. Patients coming for a vasectomy by train should get off at the Warszawa Wschodnia station, as it is the closest one to the ZdrOva practice – just 3 bus stops or a 15-minute walk.
